A Matrix Model
by Dorothy Halla-Poe, M.S., M.A., M.Ms., Ph.D. |
|
"The Matrix Model is a sensible, well thought-out
strategy for addressing one of the most complex
maladies of the human condition...
aberrant behavior."
Ron Davis, Founder
Davis Dyslexia Association International
Many "challenging children do not benefit from traditional therapy and medication alone, when working to address essential developmental needs, is not a cure. A new approach is needed. It is called The Matrix Model. The Matrix Model provides an innovative, creative and well-researched method of working with children who exhibit neurological dysfunction, psychiatric disorders, or atypical behaviors; children who otherwise have a high probability of being incarcerated or institutionalized.
Four elements comprise The Matrix Model: Attachment Disorder, Dyslexia, Multiple Intelligences and The Feldenkrais Method. They are used in ways that are specific to each child's unique problems. It is within these four elements of learning that new options originate and a child takes form and develops.

Hollywood Endings and How to Get One
by Linda Flanders |
|
"It's gratifying to be reminded that one's work...
can actually have Universal implications...Linda Flanders
does an admirable job of illustrating that life and art are
not mutually exclusive and that movies....
are really the stories of our lives."
Ernest Thompson
Academy Award winning writer of
"On Golden Pond"
"Act it and you will become it!" You can create the life you really want. Hollywood Endings is about self-awareness, learning and recovery. It's for anyone who has ever wanted or dreamed of having a Hollywood Ending. It is for those of us who never had a role model to show how it's done. It celebrates the wonder and excitement of the movies, urges us to see movies once to be entertained, and then return to see them again to learn from them. We all deserve a Hollywood ending. This book uses the movies to show you how to do it.

"Although research has shown film to be the premiere emotion generator, research has also shown that books can explain and explore complex issues more effectively than can films. In essence, film arouses and print elaborates. A wedding of film self-help books can offer the best of both media. This is what the field of cinema therapy has to offer a cinema-savvy society."

Emeritus Professor of Media Psychology
California State University, Los Angeles
Director of Media Psychology Research Institute
